  • Hold and exercise SSE (SSEN) authorisation at Senior Authorised Person / site-management level; control the safe system of work and issue/receive safety documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate the site team (site supervisor, fitters/electricians, cable jointer) and specialist subcontractors, allocating resource against the programme.
  • Own site health, safety, environmental and CDM compliance; prepare and brief RAMS, run daily briefings, and maintain a zero-harm culture on a live/part-live substation.
  • Coordinate the testing, commissioning and energisation sequence with the commissioning engineer and SSEN control.
  • Manage quality, inspection and test plan sign-off, snagging and defect close-out.
  • Compile and submit commissioning documentation and as-built records; manage de‑mobilisation and handover.
  • Manage free‑issue materials and equipment, plant, logistics and traffic management (A339).

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrable, hands‑on experience managing works on high voltage substations at 33kV and 132kV.
  • Proven delivery of grid transformer replacement and associated HV/LV installation and commissioning in a DNO/transmission environment (ideally SSEN/SSE).
