Overview

We are seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager to oversee a CHP (Combined Heat & Power) replacement project within a live hospital environment in Leicestershire. This is a critical role requiring strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to maintain strict safety, compliance, and operational continuity within a sensitive healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the on-site delivery of a CHP replacement project from mobilisation through to handover.
  • Coordinate all mechanical and electrical installation works to ensure programme, quality, and safety targets are met.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to specification and in compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, toolbox talks, and ensure adherence to RAMS and all applicable H&S legislation.
  • Maintain close communication with hospital estates teams to mitigate operational disruptions in a live environment.
  • Oversee permit-to-work processes, site access, and all associated documentation.
  • Review technical drawings, method statements, and ensure installation aligns with design requirements.
  • Produce daily reports, progress updates, and escalate any risks to the project management team.
  • Ensure project completion, testing, and commissioning activities are carried out efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an M&E Site Manager on complex building services or energy-based projects.
  • Strong background in CHP systems, plantroom works, or large-scale M&E replacement projects.
  • Experience working in live hospital or healthcare environments (highly desirable).
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid (minimum).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and uphold strict safety standards.
