Our client is delivering a rapidly expanding portfolio of National Defence projects in Barrow‑in‑Furness and is securing significant investment across the sector. This opportunity is ideal for candidates based in Barrow‑in‑Furness, Liverpool, Warrington, Manchester, Bolton, Blackburn, Preston, Morecambe, Lancaster, Kendal, Carlisle, Penrith and across the North West who are willing to stay away during the week.
Package Includes:
- Up to £75,000 salary
- £5,300 annual car allowance
- 10% working away uplift
- Approx. £1,450 per month tax‑free living away allowance

Working Arrangement:
- Site‑based in Barrow‑in‑Furness four days per week
- Work from home every Friday
- Suitable for commuting or staying away during the week
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial management of major engineering, construction and infrastructure projects
- Cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting
- NEC contract administration
- Change control, variations and claims management
- Cash flow forecasting and payment applications
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Risk and opportunity management
- Final account negotiation and agreement
- Building strong stakeholder and client relationships
Requirements:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Background within construction, infrastructure, engineering, MEP, defence, nuclear or major projects
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- NEC contract experience preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance is essential
