The Opportunity

My client is seeking an experienced M&E HV Installation Site Manager to oversee the delivery of high‑voltage electrical installation works on a major project in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work, with the potential for further contract extensions or subsequent project opportunities beyond the initial assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of site operations and installation activities.
  • Supervision and coordination of subcontractors and direct labour.
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
  • Managing site health & safety compliance and promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Liaising with project management, engineering teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing RAMS, permits and site documentation.
  • Monitoring progress against programme and identifying any risks to delivery.
  • Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and progress meetings.
  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with project specifications and industry standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Manager on HV electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong background in M&E and HV installation works.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site-based delivery teams.
  • Good working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Ability to work independently whilst maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

Essential Qualifications

  • SMSTS
  • First Aid at Work

Desirable Experience

  • DNO project experience (UKPN, SSEN, WPD, ENWL, SPEN or similar).
  • Experience working on ICP, utility or power infrastructure projects.
  • Previous involvement in substation, cable installation or associated HV works.

Additional Information

  • Grid authorisations are not required for this position.
  • The successful candidate will be required on site within the next couple of weeks.
  • Interviews are available immediately, with interview slots currently available from Wednesday afternoon (after 2:00pm).
