Responsibilities:
- Drive Lean and CI initiatives across the shop floor (Kaizen, SMED, DMAIC, 5S, VSM)
- Develop and optimise end-to-end processes in machining (CNC, milling, turning), welding/fabrication, and mechanical assembly
- Introduce standardised work, visual management, and robust process controls
- Implement Poka-Yoke and error-proofing solutions
- Support NPI activities from prototype through to volume manufacture (DFM/DFA, build plans, SOPs)
- Specify, commission, and validate new tooling, jigs, fixtures, equipment, and test systems
- Lead process-focused cost reduction projects and value engineering activities
- Prepare CapEx justifications including ROI/NPV/payback analysis
- Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to deliver process improvements
What you’ll bring:
Essential:
- HND/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related engineering discipline
- Background in volume or batch production of engineered products
- Strong Lean/CI problem-solving (RCA, 8D, DMAIC) with measured results
- Understanding of fixtures, tooling, automated assembly, and test systems
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
Desirable:
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- Experience delivering CapEx projects or installing production equipment
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC
