We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Protection Engineer to oversee the design and implementation of protection systems for electrical substations. The role involves managing engineering activities from initial design through to site commissioning, acting as the technical interface between customers and the internal engineering team. Strong hands-on experience in protection and scheme design is essential. This position reports directly to the Protection Systems Engineering Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Drive technical project activities, lead customer kick-off meetings, and ensure successful execution from design to commissioning.
  • Customer & Project Management: Participate in risk reviews, manage engineering budgets (man-days), and provide regular progress updates.
  • Design & Documentation: Analyze customer specifications, prepare technical documentation, and validate solutions with stakeholders.
  • Technical Oversight: Specify software and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), plan technical execution, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Address technical deviations, manage fault reports, and support site engineers remotely or on-site.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and coordinate major commissioning milestones.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in protection and electrical design engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of protection functions, electrical schemes, and cubicle design.
  • Design Expertise: Proficient in configuring protection relays and conducting network studies.
  • Travel: Ability to travel locally and internationally; valid driver's license required.
