Base pay range
A solar client is looking for 3 x HSE Managers for their upcoming solar farm projects β one being in Lincolnshire and the other two being located in Kent.
All three projects will be starting in July and will be contract-based roles lasting 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:
β Monitor existing and incoming health and safety legislation in the UK to ensure
compliance across project sites
β Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the H&S Management System in line with
UK regulations, client requirements, and ISO 45001
β Assess and analyse risks associated with the work schedule and site activities
β Perform gap analyses and define minimum H&S certification standards for employees
and subcontractors
β Maintain certification and competence records for all site-based personnel
β Ensure the company\βs health and safety policies are implemented and followed on site
β Evaluate pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) from suppliers and subcontractors
β Review and revise Construction Phase Plans and project-specific H&S documentation
β Review RAMS submitted by internal teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders to
ensure suitability
β Conduct regular on-site H&S audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with the
Construction Phase Plan and CDM obligations
β Issue corrective and preventive actions and follow up to ensure implementation
β Act as H&S liaison for Principal Designers, client-side H&S managers, and
subcontractors
β Lead and support investigations into all incidents, near-misses, and safety observations
β Maintain detailed records of emergencies, incidents, and safety concerns to support
continuous improvement
β Manage and issue site-level Permits to Work (PTW), ensuring full compliance
β Support emergency preparedness procedures and ensure the availability and suitability
of emergency equipment
β Deliver H&S inductions and training to all contractors and staff on site
β Promote sustainable site practices, including appropriate waste disposal and reduction
of environmental impact
β Compile environmental and ESG reports relating to waste, water, fuel use, and verify
relevant certifications (e.g. waste carrier licences)
β Assist in maintaining and enhancing HSE policies and procedures in line with CDM,
statutory requirements, and industry best practice.
Candidate Profile:
β Proven hands-on experience in health and safety management on UK-based solar
construction sites
β Knowledge of CDM regulations and H&S best practice in the construction industry
β Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
β Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a detail-oriented and practical
approach to on-site coordination and compliance
β Capable of using digital tools and reporting systems for H&S documentation and audits
Required Certifications (please provide proof):
β NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and/or
β NEBOSH National Construction Certificate
β First Aid Level 3 (Appointed Person)
Desirable:
β CSCS card (Gold or equivalent)
β AQP (Authorised Qualified Person)
β SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Additional Requirements:
β Fluent in English (spoken and written)
β Valid UK driving licence
