We have live opportunities for a Planning Manager and Senior Planners to assist one of our clients on a contract basis. These roles are across various locations across North Scotland.
Role: Senior Planner / Planning Manager
Locations: Isle of Skye, Elgin & Tealing (roles available across all three)
Work Pattern: Hybrid - weekly site travel with some work from home opportunity
Sector: Transmission & Distribution (T&D) / Energy Infrastructure
About the Opportunity
We are supporting a major client delivering several high profile Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects across Scotland. As part of their continued growth across the network, we are looking to speak with experienced Senior Planners / Planning Managers who have strong backgrounds in planning major HV, substation, OHL, or cable route projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join long-term energy infrastructure works critical to Scotland's grid upgrade and future resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning activities across major T&D packages.
- Develop and maintain Primavera P6 schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project timelines.
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams to track progress and identify risks or delays.
- Provide regular reporting and schedule updates to senior stakeholders.
- Support planning strategy, forecasting, earned value analysis, change control and programme assurance.
- Attend project sites weekly (Skye, Elgin or Tealing depending on assignment).
Requirements
- Must be Scotland-based
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner / Planning Manager
- Strong background in Transmission & Distribution (substations, OHL, HV/EHV or major energy infrastructure)
- Advanced user of Primavera P6
- Able to work in a hybrid pattern with regular weekly site visits
- Experience delivering schedules for complex engineering or EPC projects
