About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a security fencing installation on a high voltage substation construction project in Carlisle. This is a critical role ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of works in a high-risk environment.
Please note: This is not a live substation site, so National Grid tickets are not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations for the security fencing package.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in high-voltage environments.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Monitor progress against programme and report to the Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate site records, including permits, risk assessments, and daily logs.
- Liaise with the client and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or fencing projects, ideally within substation or power infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations and HSE standards.
- SMSTS certification (essential).
- Other relevant site management tickets such as First Aid at Work, CSCS (desirable).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and work under pressure.
