We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician with strong AutoCAD experience to support the design and coordination of HVAC and ductwork systems for technically complex cleanroom, healthcare, and pharmaceutical projects. The role involves producing high‑quality mechanical drawings in line with stringent regulatory, safety, and performance requirements typical of controlled environments, and collaborating closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and installers to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and construction‑ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed HVAC and ductwork layouts using AutoCAD for cleanroom, healthcare, and pharmaceutical facilities
- Prepare coordinated GA drawings, ductwork schematics, plantroom layouts, and sections
- Develop designs in line with HTM, GMP, ISO cleanroom standards, and project specifications
- Coordinate mechanical layouts with architectural, electrical, structural, and process services
- Revise and update drawings to reflect design development, RFIs, and site feedback
- Assist engineers with clash resolution and constructability reviews
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure document control procedures are followed
- Support projects from concept and detailed design through to construction and handover
- Ensure all drawings meet internal CAD standards and client requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician producing mechanical / HVAC drawings
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D experience beneficial)
- Experience designing HVAC and ductwork systems
- Familiarity with cleanroom, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments
- Understanding of ventilation principles, airflow, pressure regimes, and space coordination
- Ability to interpret engineering calculations, specifications, and schedules
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience producing drawings for manufacturing, laboratories, hospitals, or life sciences projects
- Understanding of installation constraints and site‑based coordination
- HNC / HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services or Engineering
