QHSE Advisor
The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced
QHSE Advisor
to support the delivery of major gas infrastructure and engineering projects across the UK.

This role will act as the UK business partner for
Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental (QHSE)
and Information Security matters, ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

This is a highly visible position requiring an individual who can influence stakeholders at all levels, develop robust processes, and support the successful delivery of complex projects within regulated utility environments.

The successful candidate will have a strong background within the
gas compressor stations.

Key Responsibilities Act as the UK QHSE business partner, building proactive relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers.

Ensure compliance with company QHSE standards, UK legislation, customer requirements, and industry best practice.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality, health & safety, environmental and information security functions.

Monitor, report, investigate and escalate QHSE incidents, non-conformances, trends and performance metrics.

Identify opportunities for process enhancement and lead the implementation of effective solutions.

Create, review and improve QHSE procedures, standards and management systems.

Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.

Coordinate competency assessments, training programmes and associated records.

Provide professional QHSE guidance and support across project and operational teams.

Review survey and project plans to ensure SHE risks are appropriately identified and mitigated.

Prepare and maintain site induction materials, risk assessments and safety documentation.

Lead or support incident investigations, near-miss reporting and lessons learned activities.

Contribute to project risk registers, SHE plans and overall project governance.

Support Principal Contractors in fulfilling obligations under
CDM Regulations 2015 .

Collaborate with European and global stakeholders to support the implementation of corporate QHSE initiatives.

Essential Requirements Significant experience in a
QHSE Advisor
or similar role within the
gas industry .

Experience working on major gas infrastructure projects or UK gas compressor stations Strong understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.

Demonstrable experience supporting projects with values of approximately
£40 million or greater .

Proven ability to manage compliance frameworks, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Strong working knowledge of
CDM Regulations 2015 .

NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent recognised health and safety qualification.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to influence, challenge and drive positive behavioural change across all levels of an organisation.

Highly Desirable Experience Previous experience working for or supporting
National Gas
projects.

Experience on major
National Grid / National Gas construction programmes .

Knowledge of
ISO 9001
and integrated management systems.

Experience working with large contractors within utilities, construction, instrumentation, automation or energy sectors.
