About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major substation construction project in West London. This is a site-based role requiring attendance 3-4 days per week, with the remainder of the time working remotely or from a designated office. You will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and value delivery throughout the build phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor project costs and budgets
  • Prepare and review subcontractor packages and valuations
  • Conduct site measurements and valuations
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and IR35 regulations
  • Provide accurate and timely cost reporting and forecasting

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure or substation projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and on-site 3-4 days per week
  • Must operate through an umbrella company (Inside IR35)
  • Experience using SYPRO contract management software is highly desirable
