We're supporting a growing engineering delivery partner working across multiple long-term UK water frameworks. Due to continued project wins, they are looking to hire Senior, Lead, and Principal EICA Engineers to strengthen their design and delivery capability. This is a genuinely flexible, remote-first role where you'll still stay close to delivery - attending key site visits, FATs, and collaborative sessions without the need for constant travel. You'll be joining a team trusted to deliver high-value, complex EICA solutions across the full project lifecycle - from early design through to commissioning.
The Opportunity
Depending on your level, you'll either:
- Support delivery of key EICA packages (Senior)
- Take ownership of workstreams and coordinate design (Lead)
- Drive technical delivery and influence projects at a strategic level (Principal)
All roles offer exposure to client-facing work, technical ownership, and real project impact across critical UK infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce cost-effective, compliant EICA design documentation
- Develop electrical, control, and instrumentation designs for water projects
- Carry out site surveys and provide technical input on live assets
- Attend and report on Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
- Ensure designs (internal and subcontractor) meet specification and quality standards
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including:
- Control philosophies
- Functional design specifications
- Equipment and material requisitions
- Review supplier quotations and produce technical bid assessments
- Prepare installation scopes of work
- Ensure all designs meet budget, programme, and compliance requirements
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning

Senior Engineers
- Deliver defined packages within larger projects
- Support client interactions and internal coordination
- Contribute to design quality and documentation
Lead Engineers
- Own EICA design delivery across projects or workstreams
- Allocate work and manage delivery against programme
- Act as a key interface between client, suppliers, and delivery teams
Principal Engineers
- Lead projects or act as the technical authority for EICA
- Drive design strategy, quality, and governance
- Provide oversight of multiple workstreams or frameworks
- Play a key role in client engagement and technical leadership
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Recent experience in the UK water sector (non-negotiable)
- Strong client-facing experience
- Proven background in EICA / EC&I design and delivery
- Experience working across design → commissioning lifecycle
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
Technical Experience:
- Electrical, Control & Instrumentation design
- PLC / SCADA systems (desirable)
- Design documentation & technical review
- Supplier engagement and technical evaluations
