We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support contract management activities on a major UK energy infrastructure project. The role will be site‑based across multiple locations, including Torness and Murton, and will sit within a wider HVDC delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on daily, weekly, and monthly progress of on‑site quantitative works.
- Gather, review, and analyse subcontractor progress data and measurement information.
- Identify potential delays, risks, or constraints in subcontractor activities and escalate findings to site leadership.
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to interpret drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.
- Produce regular progress and cost reports, highlighting achievements, issues, and forward projections.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, material deliveries, and labour resources.
- Participate in site reviews and subcontractor coordination meetings to ensure programme and commercial alignment.
- Oversee subcontractor compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and safety standards.
- Raise and track technical, quality, or commercial non‑conformances through to resolution.
Required Experience & Skills
- Solid understanding of Bills of Quantities, cost control, and contract administration.
- NEC 4 experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as QS.
- Proven background in quantity verification, cost reporting, and management of variations.
- High level of accuracy, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Confident communicator, able to collaborate across multi‑disciplinary project teams.
- Proficient in commercial / cost control systems and MS Excel.
