This is a unique opportunity to work on Bespoke Heavy Engineering Projects (Welded, Fabricated & Machined Machinery & Equipment), supporting projects across the full design lifecycle - from FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) to final delivery. You will play a key role in the design and manufacture of high-integrity systems, applying your expertise in CAD, FEA, and engineering standards to deliver safe, innovative, and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design of custom-engineered systems for industrial and safety-critical applications.
- Deliver projects through the full design lifecycle, from concept and FEED to detailed design and manufacture.
- Apply CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and FEA (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) tools to develop and validate designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (ASME, BS EN, RCC-M, etc.) in a regulated environment.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in a regulated industry (e.g., defence, oil & gas, aerospace, energy, etc.).
- Strong background in bespoke machinery, heavy engineering systems, or process equipment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Ideally possess a solid understanding of FEED, design for manufacture (DFM), and lifecycle engineering.
- Experience working to safety-critical standards in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Energy, Pharmaceutical, Defence, or Marine.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a global OEM delivering high-impact engineering solutions.
- Work on mission-critical projects with real-world applications.
- Enjoy a collaborative, technically challenging environment with career progression and training opportunities.
- Competitive salary (Up to £65,000) + Pension + Flexible & Hybrid working, and other excellent benefits.
