Seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support a major substation development in the South West.

Contract duration: Starting 2nd March and running through to end of December.

Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm. No evening or weekend work expected.

Project Overview

The project is part of a large-scale infrastructure development involving a 400/132 kV substation supporting significant regional assets, including a major data centre and an EV battery manufacturing facility. The site is currently in the mobilisation phase. While construction activity is heavily civils-focused at present, this position is specifically for a power-focused Project Engineer. The wider programme is anticipated to run through to 2029.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • The role requires candidates to hold relevant authorisations, including:
  • Earthing Application Person (EAP)
  • Earthing Control Person (ECP)
  • Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP)

These accreditations typically require prior experience on National Grid projects. The ideal candidate will be capable of coordinating multiple work packages and operating with the mindset of an Assistant Project Manager, rather than focusing on a single task or discipline.
