We are seeking Overhead Lines (OHL) Engineers to support the design and delivery of electricity infrastructure projects across UK DNO frameworks. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to network reinforcement, asset replacement, customer connections and wider energy transition projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver overhead line designs in accordance with DNO and industry standards.
- Produce engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
- Undertake route assessments, feasibility studies and site inspections.
- Carry out structural assessments of poles, towers, conductors and fittings.
- Support the delivery of projects from concept through to construction and commissioning.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, landowners and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with ENA standards, CDM Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Support construction activities by responding to technical queries and design changes.
- Participate in design reviews and engineering assurance activities.
- Work collaboratively with civil, cable, protection and substation engineering teams.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering overhead line projects within the UK utilities sector.
- Knowledge of DNO standards and overhead line design principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on networks up to 132kV.
- Knowledge of ENA Engineering Recommendations.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status.
