Long-Term Contract | Until June 2027 We are recruiting for
two Managing Quantity Surveyors
to support the delivery of major electricity transmission infrastructure projects across Scotland.
These roles sit within a leading UK utility and infrastructure contractor delivering critical upgrades to the high-voltage transmission network.
Working on large-scale Overhead Line (OHL) and power infrastructure schemes, you will play a key role in ensuring robust commercial management throughout project delivery, helping facilitate network reinforcement, renewable energy integration, and future energy security.
The Role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial performance of major transmission projects from delivery through to final account, working closely with project, operational and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities will include: Leading all commercial and contractual activities across assigned projects.
Managing cost reporting, forecasting and cost/value reconciliation.
Administering NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management.
Managing project risks, opportunities and commercial governance.
Preparing applications for payment, valuations, variations and final accounts.
Procuring and managing subcontract packages.
Reviewing and approving subcontractor applications and payments.
Producing accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts.
Supporting operational teams to maximise project profitability.
Managing stakeholder relationships across project and client teams.
Ensuring compliance with contractual and company commercial procedures.
Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Strong NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract administration experience.
Experience working within utilities, power, transmission, civil engineering or major infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of change control, compensation events and final accounts.
Commercial leadership experience on complex infrastructure projects.
Excellent forecasting, reporting and financial management skills.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
Highly Desirable
Electricity transmission or distribution experience.
Overhead Line (OHL) project experience.
Experience on high-voltage power infrastructure projects.
Previous involvement with transmission network reinforcement schemes.
Utilities framework experience.
Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
