Location: Initially based in our South Wales office, transitioning to site-based work in Newport & Pembroke

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced SR163 PC Site Manager to lead the construction of a new substation project in South Wales. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in managing civil works on live HV substations and holding the necessary National Grid authorisations. You will begin by working from our South Wales office, focusing on planning and managing survey works, developing the Construction Phase Plan, and preparing for site mobilisation. Once the project is ready to break ground, you will transition to being full-time on-site across Newport and Pembroke.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of substation construction
- Develop and implement the Construction Phase Plan
- Coordinate and supervise survey and preparatory works
- Ensure full compliance with National Grid standards and safety protocols
- Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and project teams
- Conduct regular site visits and manage on-site activities post-mobilisation
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience managing civil works on National Grid live HV substations
- SR163 accreditation (Person in Charge)
- NG NSI 8 Full (National Grid Safety Instruction)
- TWS (Technical Works Supervisor)
- HS(G)47 - Avoiding danger from underground services
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- Full First Aid certification
