Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Near Luton. Salary: Up to £45,000 + Bonus + Benefits.
Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in high-volume production environments?
This is a brand-new opportunity to join a Global Engineering & Manufacturing Company for their UK HQ near Luton, where you will play a key role in improving production processes, driving efficiency and supporting new product introduction.
The Manufacturing Engineer Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead initiatives to improve production performance, reduce waste and enhance quality across a fast‑paced manufacturing site.
You will work closely with cross‑functional teams and support both existing production and new product introduction activities, across a range of processes including machining, welding and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies including Kaizen, SMED, Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and output across machining, welding and fabrication processes
- Drive defect reduction through error-proofing and process control
- Support new product introduction from concept through to production
- Specify and validate equipment, tooling and fixtures
- Deliver cost reduction and value engineering projects
- Prepare and justify CapEx proposals including cost analysis
- Support capital investment projects and site improvements
Requirements
- HND or Degree in Engineering, ideally Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, ideally automotive or similar
- Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working with machining, welding, fabrication or assembly processes
- Experience working with automation, tooling or test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process data
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt would be advantageous
- Experience with CapEx or capital investment projects would be beneficial
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary up to £45,000
