The Compliance Manager Role

As Compliance Manager, you will provide expert guidance on product compliance, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across the organisation. Working closely with Engineering & Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and Product Development teams, you will ensure products, processes, and systems remain compliant throughout their lifecycle while driving continuous improvement and governance activities.

Key Responsibilities of the Compliance Manager

  • Lead product compliance and regulatory governance activities across the business
  • Provide expert interpretation of engineering, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Support product development and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Ensure technical files, compliance documentation, and audit trails are maintained
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate product testing, certification, and regulatory approval activities
  • Manage relationships with certification bodies, test houses, and regulatory organisations
  • Support and lead internal and external audits
  • Drive continuous improvement of compliance systems and processes
  • Promote compliance best practice across engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions

Requirements for the Compliance Manager Role

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience in a Compliance Manager, Regulatory Compliance, Product Safety, or Quality role
  • Strong understanding of product safety, engineering standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or technical product environments
  • Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, and compliance investigations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Professional certifications such as CQE, CQA, or similar would be advantageous
