Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Designer to join our engineering team, supporting the design and coordination of water infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this role will focus on the design and layout of wet wells, pump chambers, and associated ductile iron pipework, with an emphasis on constructability, maintainability, and operational access.
Must have experience working with Revit in 3D design environments and supporting multi-disciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce 3D models and detailed general arrangement drawings (GAs) using Revit.
- Develop layouts of wet and dry well pumping stations, concrete pump chambers, ductile iron and epoxy coated carbon steel pipework, valves, and pipe support systems.
- Coordinate and integrate vendor equipment packages into the design.
- Layout and model access platforms, stairs, handrails, and maintenance accessways in compliance with Client and Industry standards.
- Contribute to design reviews, including Access, Lifting and Maintenance reviews (ALMs).
- Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure coordinated and clash-free models.
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation meets company and client standards.
- HNC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Piping Designer in the water industry or similar infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in Revit for piping and basic structural layout design.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD & Navisworks.
- Experience with Wet and dry well pumping stations and ductile iron and epoxy coated carbon steel pipe systems.
- Understanding of pipe supports, equipment access requirements, and plant layout.
- Experience working with vendor packages and integrating them into plant layouts.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards for piping design and health and safety requirements.
- Ability to interpret and develop layouts from P&IDs and equipment data sheets.
- Strong communication and team coordination skills.
This is a hybrid role with some attendance in the Manchester Office and the flexibility to work from home some of the time.
