We are currently recruiting for an experienced Principal Contractor Site Manager to support the delivery of a major High Voltage National Grid project. This is a long-term contract opportunity, joining the project at a very early stage, with strong potential for extension.
Role Overview
You will act as the Principal Contractor Site Manager, holding full SR163 nomination, with responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient management of site activities within a safety-critical HV environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors and all site works
- Acting as Principal Contractor with full SR163 nomination
- Development and implementation of Construction Phase Plans, Site Quality Plans and RAMS
- Preparation of daily SSoW and allocation of works
- Producing and maintaining Site Specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Delivering site inductions, Toolbox Talks and daily briefings
- Undertaking regular H&S inspections to ensure compliance with National Grid standards
- Developing and maintaining project programmes to ensure timely delivery
- Liaising with subcontractors, client teams and National Grid representatives
- Attending weekly progress and coordination meetings
- Resolving site issues and managing quality control throughout the project
- Maintaining accurate site records, documentation and site diary
Essential / Desirable Experience
- Proven experience as a Principal Contractor Site Manager on High Voltage infrastructure projects
- SR163 nominated experience - essential
- Experience working within National Grid safety-critical environments
- SSE Authorisation (minimum CAT1C) - highly desirable
Contract Details
- Rate: £600 per day
- Engagement: CIS contract (Limited companies not accepted)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Initially to the end of the calendar year, with a strong likelihood of extension
