Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a role where you can make a real impact? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team working on complex heavy industry projects at their Stockton-on-Tees HQ.
You will be involved in designing piping systems, tanks, pressure vessels and skid-mounted equipment for challenging environments.
What you will be doing as Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Produce detailed design documentation including P&IDs, schematics, Bills of Materials and calculations
- Design and develop piping layouts, valves, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and skid-mounted systems
- Create and contribute to 3D models using advanced CAD tools to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions
- Act as the technical lead for mechanical design aspects of projects ensuring compliance with standards and successful delivery
- Participate in Design and Safety Reviews, Risk Assessments and ensure all statutory obligations are met
- Provide technical support during manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning phases
What we are looking for in a Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Strong experience in mechanical design for piping systems, tanks, vessels and skids
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD packages (Inventor, CADWorx or Siemens NX desirable)
- Good understanding of P&IDs, Piping Systems and heavy and/or process industry turnkey projects
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and design standards
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
