We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Instrument Technician to join our team on a contract basis. This role will support field operations within an oil & gas or petrochemical plant environment, contributing to commissioning, maintenance, and operational readiness of instrumentation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems
- Support field operations, including commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults on a wide range of field instruments
- Complete all relevant technical documentation and site paperwork accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, industry standards, and hazardous area regulations
- Assist with shutdowns, start-ups, and other time-critical site activities
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within oil & gas or petrochemical plant environments
- Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, loop drawings, and control systems
- Hands-on experience with field commissioning, loop checks, and instrument diagnostics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- CompEx certification (Hazardous Area Equipment) – preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with industry-standard documentation and QA/QC processes
