Lead Electrical HV Design Engineer – Contract (Outside IR35)

Location: UK (Hybrid) | Sector: Transmission & Distribution | Start: ASAP

We\’re looking for an experienced Lead Electrical HV Design Engineer to join long‑term UK Transmission & Distribution projects (132kV-400kV). You\’ll lead substation design (AIS/GIS), oversee deliverables, and ensure compliance with National Grid or SSE standards.

Key Requirements:

Proven UK T&D experience (National Grid / SSE essential)

HV design leadership: SLDs, layouts, earthing, cable sizing

Knowledge of UK standards (ESQCR, ENA, BS/IEC)

Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, CDEGS, DIgSILENT

Contract Details:

Outside IR35 | Rolling contract | Competitive day rate

Hybrid working with occasional site visits
