The Engineering Manager Role

Take full design authority across a portfolio of service upgrades, retrofit kits and lifecycle engineering changes for complex electromechanical systems. You'll lead cross‑discipline engineering decisions, run structured projects and ensure every design released is compliant, manufacturable and reliable in the field.

What You'll Do As Engineering Manager

  • Own design authority for service‑engineered products
  • Lead design reviews across mechanical, electrical, software and systems
  • Deliver upgrade & retrofit projects through structured phase‑gate delivery
  • Drive reliability improvements using FMEA, 8D, RCA & Weibull
  • Ensure compliance with CE, ISO, RoHS, REACH, SEMI standards
  • Work with UK hubs (Bristol, Burgess Hill) and global teams (EMEA, US, APAC)

What You'll Need As Engineering Manager

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Systems or similar)
  • Experience in both Design AND Manufacturing environments
  • 10+ years' engineering + 5+ years in design authority/technical leadership
  • Strong electromechanical/mechatronics background
  • Proven delivery of upgrade kits or engineering modifications
  • Experience with phase‑gate or milestone‑based project delivery
