Your Role as Deputy Manager (Children's Services)

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead the home and ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Assist in managing the home, ensuring it is safe, compliant, and homely
  • Deliver a child-centred approach to meet individual needs
  • Mentor and guide staff to maintain high standards of care
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of team members
  • Plan and manage staff rotas effectively
  • Conduct supervisions and contribute to team development
  • Provide leadership, direction, and practical support
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards
  • Work flexibly across shifts, including sleep-ins and long days

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Childcare
  • Level 5 Diploma (or willingness to work towards)
  • Minimum two years experience in social care
  • Experience completing risk assessments and reports
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and legislation
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Passion for supporting young people with complex needs
  • Strong communication, resilience, and decision-making skills
  • A proactive and committed approach
