Your Role as Deputy Manager (Children’s Services)
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead the home and ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes
- Assist in managing the home, ensuring it is safe, compliant, and homely
- Deliver a child-centred approach to meet individual needs
- Mentor and guide staff to maintain high standards of care
- Support recruitment, training, and development of team members
- Plan and manage staff rotas effectively
- Conduct supervisions and contribute to team development
- Provide leadership, direction, and practical support
- Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards
- Work flexibly across shifts, including sleep-ins and long days
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Childcare
- Level 5 Diploma (or willingness to work towards)
- Minimum two years experience in social care
- Experience completing risk assessments and reports
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and legislation
- Experience leading and developing a team
- Passion for supporting young people with complex needs
- Strong communication, resilience, and decision-making skills
- A proactive and committed approach
