A fantastic, new opportunity for a professional, proactive individual with excellent organisational skills to join an award-winning, leading firm in Birmingham City Centre. This is a part-time role, ideal for a postgraduate student who is currently working towards qualification (e.g., SQE, LPC) and seeking part-time, relevant legal experience.
Location: Birmingham 2-3 days/week
The Role:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal contracts, with a focus on JCT and NEC agreements.
- Analyse key contractual clauses and prepare clear, structured summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct detailed legal research to support contract preparation and risk assessment.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client-facing technical queries.
- Lead or support improvements to internal processes, including contract templates, documentation standards, version control, and tracking systems.
You will need:
- Previous experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or junior contract-focused role.
- A relevant legal qualification: LLB, SQE or LPC.
- Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced, technical, or commercially driven environment.
- Strong analytical and research skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC construction contracts is desirable, but not essential if willing to learn.
