Purpose:* To apply on a day-to-day basis the Hubs provision as part of the company’s ethos, and positive behaviour management strategy, to ensure engagement and student progression is at the forefront of all our efforts.

  • Always ensure children are safe by applying the company’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • The applying of programmes of support for students referred to the provision.
  • To ensure positive outcomes are achieved wherever possible across 3 elements these include Outreach, Work Experience and Hub group/1:1 Teaching support.
  • To ensure good communication links with commissioning Schools, Local Authorities, students and parents.
  • To apply short and long-term programmes of study to ensure students complete the classwork required to enable successful outcome where possible or reintegration into mainstream lessons. *Duties and

Responsibilities:*

  • To work co-operatively in collaboration with colleagues to ensure effective systems are in place to allow students to access appropriate work/curriculum whilst in the Hub.
  • Organise and implement an individual daily programme of study by means of lesson planning (with the support of classroom teachers and under the direction of the Headteacher), which should also encourage and allow students to work independently and as a team.
  • To have input into maintaining students’ IEPs and IBPs.
  • Ensure that all the policies and procedures adopted by the company are followed, ensuring that the child’s safety and welfare is addressed through the curriculum against all forms of exploitation, this includes building student’s resilience to radicalisation by promoting fundamental British values, and enabling them to challenge extremist views.
  • Set clear expectations and boundaries for students, including Lesson Objectives.
  • Demonstrate a consistent approach to create and sustain a controlled, orderly environment.
  • Promote positive behavioural change in students who experience social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties and facilitate their inclusion back into all lessons.
  • Provide written reports to the SLT as and when requested.
  • To support coaching/teaching with small groups of students and 1:1.
  • To support students with Post 16 pathways and choices.
  • Assisting with break time supervision of students.
  • Supporting colleagues on off-site visits.
  • Where required attend 1:1 outreach session within a student’s home/other public place. (following all relevant risk assessments).
  • Where required attend employers’ establishments with students on Work Experience Placements (following all relevant risk assessments).
  • Attend any student review on-line / face to face meetings as required.
  • To ensure that lesson plans follow the scheme of work, or commissioners wishes following their own schools planning.
  • To ensure written evidence of student’s work is captured and downloaded to the company on-line platform and students’ folders.
  • To support transporting students as required (following Risk Assessments)- Own car and full-driving license required. 9 weeks paid holiday.
