We are currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for a specialist education setting in LE8, supporting pupils aged 7–16 with SEMH and complex behavioural needs. This role suits someone who is confident working in high-challenge environments, understands behaviour as communication, and can provide consistent, structured support to pupils who require it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning
  • Implementing behaviour and risk management plans
  • Using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or challenging behaviour
  • Backgrounds in PRU, alternative provision, youth work, or care are highly relevant
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential due to location
  • Calm, resilient, and professional approach
  • Strong communication skills
