Teaching Assistant – Autism & Complex Needs

We are seeking to appoint a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school setting supporting pupils with autism and complex needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to access learning, develop communication and social skills, and manage their emotional and sensory needs. You will contribute to creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment tailored to individual pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with autism and complex needs
  • Supporting learning activities in line with individual education plans
  • Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional support
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Supporting pupils\’ personal care where required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Be patient, resilient and empathetic
  • Have a positive and proactive approach to supporting pupils
  • Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills
  • Have experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not essential)

Training and ongoing professional development will be provided.
