We are currently looking for a qualified School Counsellor to join a supportive and dynamic secondary school in Nottingham. Role Overview:

As a Qualified School Counsellor, you will provide essential support to students, addressing emotional and mental health needs, and helping them overcome personal challenges that may affect their learning and well-being. This temporary role will be crucial in helping students thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group counselling sessions to students facing emotional and mental health challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student well-being and resilience.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor student progress and report on outcomes to relevant stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience:

  • Proven experience working with young people in a counselling or therapeutic capacity.
  • A deep understanding of the emotional and mental health challenges faced by secondary school students.

Training:

  • A recognised qualification in School Counselling or a related field (e.g., Level 4 Counselling).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Strong communication, listening, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to provide confidential and empathetic support to students.
