We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist provision for a Class Lead to take responsibility for a mixed KS3 & KS4 class of male pupils. The pupils present with a range of SEND and behavioural needs and are working below age-related expectations, accessing a tailored and highly differentiated curriculum. This role requires a confident and adaptable practitioner who can deliver pre-planned learning materials while skilfully adapting content and approaches to meet individual pupil needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a class of KS3 & KS4 male pupils with varying SEND and behavioural needs
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning materials, adapting them appropriately to suit individual pupils
  • Confidently differentiate and adapt the curriculum for pupils working below age-related expectations
  • Create and maintain a structured, calm, and supportive learning environment
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans consistently
  • Work closely with support staff to ensure high-quality provision across the day
  • Monitor engagement and progress, contributing to reviews and reports as required
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting emotional regulation, independence, and positive behaviour

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND and/or behavioural needs
  • Confidence in curriculum adaptation and differentiation
  • The ability to deliver pre-planned content flexibly and creatively
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Teaching qualification or relevant experience as a Class Lead/HLTA (depending on setting requirements)
