Progress Teachers are supporting a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Leicester to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor who will support students across various year groups. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference by providing practical support, building strong relationships, and promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Offer day-to-day pastoral support to help students manage emotions, build confidence, and stay engaged in their learning.
  • Behaviour Guidance: Support students with behaviour plans and strategies, encouraging positive choices and self-reflection.
  • Attendance Monitoring: Help improve punctuality and attendance by working with families, tracking data, and offering encouragement and early intervention.
  • Progress Tracking: Assist staff in identifying students who may be struggling and help implement practical interventions.
  • Working with Families and Agencies: Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and outside support services.
  • Encouraging Student Voice: Promote opportunities for student leadership and help young people feel heard and valued in school life.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting
  • A calm, empathetic, and solution-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, students, and families
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to student welfare
  • The motivation to support students in achieving both personal and academic success
