What are we looking for from you?

  • Engagement Skills: Ability to engage learners and support their ambitions.

  • Academic Background: Degree in a relevant teaching subject; equivalent for SEN is desirable.
  • Core Teaching Qualifications: QTS/QTLS or willing to work toward it; specialist qualification desirable.
  • Experience: Experience in a school environment; secondary school experience a plus.
  • Teaching Subjects: English, Maths, and Science proficiency, minimum grade 4/C or higher.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of alternative provision and special needs.
  • Problem‑solving: Aptitude for solving problems and making effective decisions.
  • Communication: Professional communication with students and staff.
  • Promotion of Values: Commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
  • Time Management: Effective planning, delivery, and assessment.

About the School: Progress Schools – Wolverhampton supports approximately 15 pupils on roll, part of the national group of 13 independent OFSTED‑regulated schools. The core team consists of a Head of School, three teachers, and two support staff, with additional regional and national support.
