Qualifications

  • Engagement Skills: Ability to engage learners and support their ambitions, bringing fresh ideas and creativity into and out of the classroom.

  • Academic Background: Degree in a relevant teaching subject (equivalent for SEN desirable).
  • Core Teaching Qualifications: QTS/QTLS or willingness to work towards it; specialist teaching qualification desirable.
  • Experience: Work experience in a school environment, with secondary school experience an advantage.
  • Teaching Subjects: Proficiency in English, Maths and Science, with a minimum of grade 4/C.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of alternative provision and working with students with special needs.
  • Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical skills and effective decision‑making.
  • Communication: Professional communication with students and staff.

About the School

At the Northampton school, we have a bright and colourful recreational area where students can enjoy their downtime. Our four classrooms are equipped with interactive smart boards or projectors, enabling innovative resources. Students are Key Stage 3 and 4, all at least 13 years of age. Progress Schools is part of the Progress Group, a national group of 13 independent OFSTED‑regulated schools.
