Days: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 13:40 & Friday 06:00 13:00
Afters: Monday to Thursday, 13:35 21:15 & Friday 12:55 19:55
Progress Rail is looking to recruit an Apprentice Maintenance Technician. The successful Apprentice will be learning and developing practical and technical skills, attending college and other nominated training course, completing all relevant tests, exams and assignments to enable the student to Maintain and repair all plant and equipment. Have a good understanding of troubleshooting techniques being able to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
THE ROLE:
As an Apprentice Maintenance Technician you will be required to:
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures at all times
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions at work and for the environment
- Comply with the Company Code of Conduct
- To attend work and college in a timely manner
- To represent the business when at college and follow all rules and regulations relevant to the training schedule
- Operate in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and help to improve / develop processes where applicable
- Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair plant and equipment
- Conduct Planned Preventive Maintenance tasks
- Identify and source spare parts
- Fill in and maintain relevant records in a timely manner
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Apprentice Maintenance Technician:
- Minimum of four GCSE Grades of C/4 in:-English, Maths and Science
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Good communication skills
- Being proactive and autonomous when required
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to deadlines and targets
- Willingness to learn
- Flexible and willing to work additional hours where reasonably required
- Good knowledge of MS Office package including Excel
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (beneficial)
