Progress Housing Group is seeking a Non-Executive Director with senior digital and transformation expertise to join its Board. This is an opportunity to help shape how we use technology, innovation and organisational change to improve services, strengthen resilience and deliver better outcomes for customers and communities.

You will contribute to strategic decision-making, provide constructive support and challenge, and help ensure digital transformation is ambitious, well-governed and aligned to our social purpose. As a Non-Executive Director, you will work collectively with fellow Board members to promote the long-term success and sustainability of Progress Housing Group. You will help ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of the organisation while considering their impact on customers, employees, communities and the wider environment.

The Board has an important role in setting and maintaining the Group's vision, mission and values, approving its strategic direction and ensuring appropriate governance, financial and risk management arrangements are in place. You will contribute to this work while maintaining a clear distinction between strategic governance and the day-to-day management of the organisation.

About You

We are looking for a senior leader who can bring strategic insight, sound judgement and fresh perspective to Board discussions. Your experience may have been gained in any sector, but you will have led or contributed to significant digital, technology or business transformation in a complex organisation. You will understand the opportunities and risks associated with areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, data and emerging technologies, and be able to translate this insight into clear, proportionate Board-level challenge. Previous Board experience is welcome but not essential.

We are looking for someone who can think critically, influence constructively and build effective relationships, with a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. You will understand the social housing context, maintain a clear focus on customers and communities, and have the time and commitment to contribute fully to Board activity. You will join the Group Board and may serve on one or more committees. Meetings are generally held in person in Leyland, Lancashire, with occasional meetings via Microsoft Teams. You will be expected to prepare for and contribute fully to meetings, induction, development activity and Board effectiveness reviews.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

Progress Housing Group is committed to building a diverse, inclusive and values-led organisation. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. As a Disability Confident employer, we are happy to make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
