We’re hiring: Electrician Multi Skilled at Progress Housing Group. Join our Property Services team to deliver high-quality electrical services across our housing portfolio.
Location: Leyland • Hours: 39 hours per week • Contract: Permanent
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)
- Electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations in homes across our housing stock
- Diagnosing faults and ensuring timely, effective resolutions
- Conducting periodic inspection and testing in line with regulations (depending on experience)
- Ensuring compliance with the latest electrical safety standards
- Working respectfully in occupied homes, maintaining a professional and courteous approach
- Supporting void property turnaround to ensure homes are ready for new tenants
- Participating in our on-call rota (currently 1 in every 20 weeks) to respond to emergency repairs
What we are looking for (Qualifications)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Proven experience in domestic electrical work, ideally within Domestic or Social Housing environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing – desirable but not essential
- Experience working in both void and tenanted properties
- Familiarity with using mobile job management systems or handheld devices
- Excellent communication skills and a respectful approach when working in occupied homes
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rota (currently approx. 1 in every 20 weeks)
