Are you passionate about developing people, creating engaging learning experiences, and shaping a skilled, confident workforce? We are looking for a Learning & Development Officer to join our team and deliver high‑quality, meaningful learning that makes a real difference.

About the Role

As a Learning & Development Officer, you will play a central role in supporting the development of our workforce and foster carers. Working closely with the Organisation Development Manager and subject matter experts, you will design, develop and deliver engaging learning across classroom, virtual and onsite environments. You will ensure our people have the knowledge, skills and confidence they need, aligned with best practice, regulatory standards, and Progress values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialised training across a variety of subjects tailored to the needs of the people we support, including PRICE training or similar behaviour management models, Autism and ADHD training, Attachment and Trauma informed care, and Communication techniques such as Makaton, PECs, Sensory Processing.
  • Support the development and delivery of a train‑the‑trainer framework for practical skills such as Medication and Moving and Handling People across the organisation.
  • Lead the delivery of the Corporate Induction and by extension support operational teams with their local induction delivery to ensure a consistent experience for all new starters.
  • Provide Learning & Development support to operational teams, including compliance monitoring and embedding learning into practice.
  • Maintain accurate training data on the company Learning Management System and recording tools for business reporting and board cycles.
  • Liaise with external training providers and manage training logistics to book training and process invoices, to plan and deliver a full training calendar for staff and foster carers.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day L&D administration including mailbox management, and responding to Learning and Development support queries from service managers, staff and foster carers.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent (C&G 7300, CTLLS, DTLLS).
  • Strong IT skills for creating high‑quality learning resources.
  • Experience delivering training in 1:1, classroom and virtual environments.
  • Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care or experience working in a social care environment.
  • Experience of working with individuals with SEND.
