Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People). This is a 4 bed children’s residential home based in Rowley Regis, offering 52‑week care in a warm, homely environment. It is situated in an established residential area. The home prides itself on care and support for children with learning and physical disabilities and associated behaviours. The home prides itself on working with families and professionals, to provide opportunities for learning, increasing independence and more importantly FUN.

You will be working early shifts, late shifts, long days and the rota does include alternate weekends and a sleep in requirement. You will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people.

Duties
  • Provide a safe, caring and consistent home life for each young person.
  • Empower and enable young people to achieve their individual goals and full potential and strive towards building confidence and independence.
  • Be a positive role model at all times.
  • Ensure the respect and dignity of young people is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure the delivery of appropriate care and support is given with sensitivity.
  • Promote equality and diversity.
  • Support and cooperate with the effective and efficient operation of the service.
  • Ensure all health and educational needs of the young people are met.
  • Encourage and develop the life skills necessary to support independence.
  • Plan and undertake relevant leisure activities with young people.
  • Undertake keyworker/co-keyworker responsibilities and duties where necessary.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, legislative and reporting requirements.
  • Actively participate in continuing professional development.
Qualifications / Experience

Successful candidates will need to have: Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (Social Care Pathway). Ideally you will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs, however we will consider candidates from EBD residential settings also.
