Shape market‐leading wordings and products while collaborating across teams to execute both strategic long‐term vision and tactical short‐term initiatives. This 12‐month fixed‐term opportunity offers a meaningful impact on underwriting strategies, contributing to profitable growth in a fast‐paced, results‐driven environment.
Travelers Europe offers hybrid work arrangements: full‐time employees work three days a week in the office and two days at home (or proportionally for part‐time employees). This policy may be changed at the company's discretion.
Responsibilities:- Lead the technical product development team, developing underwriting appetite and parameters for new and updated products, including product materials and collaterals.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to agree priorities and execute within agreed timescales.
- Ensure customer‐centric, robust and accurate coverage configurations, providing technical input to the Propositions team and SMEs during competitor reviews.
- Understand reinsurance treaty policy requirements and restrictions across Business Insurance.
- Oversee coverage solutions, ensuring consistent drafting conventions, version control, commonality for all Travelers Europe model wordings, and control and acceptability on Market, Broker, MGA, and DUA wordings.
- Keep abreast of market, legislative and compliance activity to maintain product and policy wordings compliance across first and third‐party lines of business.
- Consult with colleagues on emerging issues, corporate underwriting stance, coverage and product development.
- Work with IT to ensure scope, design and implementation of products and wording changes are delivered on time.
- Communicate changes effectively to impacted parties and deliver timely training.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in Head Office and all business areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Solid experience in commercial underwriting and product within the property and casualty industry.
- Leadership skills to manage change, develop employees and align resources to key objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across the enterprise.
- Strong relationship‐building skills; work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Previous commercial insurance experience with deep knowledge of product and underwriting coverage.
