The Opportunity
We are delighted to be growing our team further and are now looking for Associate Financial Planners to join our Planner Academy. We are aiming for individuals to be located within a manageable commutable distance of the following offices: Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, London, Cambridge, Worthing/Chichester or Marlow. We operate hybrid working enabling home and office working, allowing you to balance your personal responsibilities/interests and connect with your colleagues.
The Progeny Planner Academy was established to provide a structured career path for talented individuals who are looking to forge a new career as a Financial Planner. Associate Financial Planners are supported and developed over a 12-month period, gaining the necessary knowledge, skills and commercial acumen for the role. As part of our central advice team, you may be managing existing client relationships remotely. The programme is delivered by a team of experts, using a combination of in-person workshops, webinars and digital learning which are designed to increase confidence, capability and competence. Mentors are assigned to our Associates on day one of the programme and there is considerable time built into the programme to practice with colleagues and trainers to help embed the skills learned. Each pathway is structured, yet personal, to ensure we can maximise the full potential and individual characteristics of all Academy members on their unique journeys.

What you will be doing
- Financial Planning & Advice: Deliver financial plans and advice to clients in accordance with Progeny’s regulatory standards and rules.
- Client Service: Provide clients with a high level of service and ensure client reviews are completed in accordance with the service proposition.
- Business Development: Continue to develop client-facing skills and create new business opportunities to support the growth of the business.
- Compliance & Professional Standards: Complete Continuous Professional Development to meet regulatory requirements and personal development needs.
- Performance & KPIs: Work towards the set KPIs in terms of quality of work, compliance standards, and advice revenue expectations.
- Knowledge & Ethics: Develop appropriate technical and market awareness knowledge.
About You
- Qualifications: Minimum of the CII R01 and R05 exams passed prior to commencing Progeny Planner Academy (please note we will require these to be completed early April).
- Professional Conduct: Display a professional approach to work and colleagues, including professional appearance, respect for individuals, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Skills & Qualities: Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, ensuring accuracy and high levels of attention to detail at all times. Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, building and maintaining relationships and working closely within guidelines.
