We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established UK manufacturer of traffic safety solutions for an experienced and commercially driven National Sales Manager.

With a strong reputation for quality, innovation and British engineering, our client is entering an exciting period of growth and is looking for an inspirational sales leader to help shape and deliver its next phase of expansion.

This is a senior commercial opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who can combine strategic thinking, hands-on sales leadership and strong key account management to deliver sustainable revenue growth.

The Role

As National Sales Manager, you will lead, develop and inspire the sales team while working closely with the Managing Director to deliver the company's commercial strategy.

You will take ownership of national sales performance, strengthen key customer relationships, identify new opportunities and build a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture.

The role combines sales strategy, team leadership, key account management, business development, tendering and market development, with the opportunity to influence future product and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets and increase market presence.
  • Lead, coach and develop the national sales team.
  • Embed a performance-led, customer-first culture.
  • Ensure effective CRM usage, pipeline management, forecasting and quote follow-up.
  • Monitor sales performance and produce monthly sales reports.
  • Own and develop key customer accounts to increase revenue, retention and long-term contracts.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
  • Lead and support public and private sector tenders, frameworks and contract submissions.
  • Manage pricing and rebate enquiries.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to identify new opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence to influence product development and commercial strategy.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director to identify emerging markets and innovation opportunities.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
  • Safeguard existing contracts and ensure customer KPIs and commitments are delivered.
  • Work closely with product development and operations teams to support sales initiatives and customer experience.
  • Champion an exceptional customer experience.
  • Support social value and ESG commitments across commercial activity.

About You

We are looking for an established B2B sales leader with a proven record of delivering growth and developing successful sales teams.

You will be commercially astute, customer-focused and confident operating at both strategic and operational levels.

Essential experience includes

  • Proven experience leading a national B2B sales team.
  • Consistent record of sales growth and achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable key account management experience.
  • Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Experience managing CRM systems, sales pipelines and forecasting.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and team leadership skills.
