Our client is looking for a Senior Learning Designer on a 12 month contract to support the design of a major new national leadership development initiative within a large UK public sector transport organisation undergoing significant transformation. The organisation is bringing together previously fragmented systems into a more integrated operating model focused on improving reliability, affordability, efficiency, quality, accessibility, and safety.

At the heart of this change is a new leadership academy designed to equip current and future leaders with the skills, mindset, and capability to operate effectively in a complex, operational, and safety critical environment. The programme will focus on closing critical knowledge gaps across a complex system, building shared frameworks for decision making in ambiguity and trade offs, strengthening collaboration across operational, commercial, safety, and customer functions, and developing a high performing, integrated leadership community capable of driving consistent outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate insight themes and curriculum architecture into structured learning modules and experiences
  • Design immersive scenarios and simulation mechanics reflecting real operational trade offs (safety, performance, customer, commercial)
  • Co-design content with subject matter experts across operational, customer, safety, and commercial functions
  • Produce high quality facilitator guides and deliverables
