We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Compliance Officer to join our clients growing Claims and Legal Expenses business as they enter their next phase of expansion. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, reporting directly to the Head of Risk & Conduct, and offering the opportunity to influence how they strengthen governance, enhance oversight, and embed a culture of compliance across the business. As Compliance Officer, you’ll play a central part in ensuring the business continues to operate with integrity, transparency, and regulatory confidence. You’ll support the development and delivery of the compliance framework, provide expert guidance to teams across the organisation, and help maintain the highest standards as they grow. You’ll work closely with the Head of Risk & Conduct, senior leadership, and operational teams to ensure FCA expectations are met, manage conduct risk effectively, and maintain a strong control environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the compliance and conduct risk framework
- Providing day‑to‑day compliance advice to operational teams, including claims and legal expenses functions
- Conducting monitoring, oversight, and thematic reviews to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Assisting with policy development, regulatory updates, and internal guidance materials
- Supporting the Head of Risk & Conduct with governance reporting, MI, and board‑level documentation
- Helping to identify, assess, and manage conduct risks across the business
- Ensuring robust record‑keeping, documentation, and audit trails
- Contributing to training and awareness initiatives to embed a strong compliance culture
- Acting as a trusted partner to the business, balancing regulatory expectations with commercial awareness
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a compliance, conduct, or risk role within insurance, claims, legal expenses, or financial services
- Understanding of FCA regulations and conduct risk principles
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply them practically
- Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Progress toward relevant compliance or risk qualifications is beneficial
