About the Role

As a Mid-Market Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting complex commercial insurance risks, ensuring profitability while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. You will play a key role in driving business growth and delivering tailored insurance solutions to mid-market customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite mid-market commercial risks in line with company guidelines.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to drive business growth.
• Negotiate policy terms and pricing to ensure competitive and profitable underwriting.
• Utilize data-driven insights to support underwriting decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including claims and actuarial departments, to optimize underwriting strategies.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in commercial underwriting, preferably in mid-market segments.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of UK insurance regulations and market trends.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CII, ACII) are desirable.
