Weβre supporting a respected independent insurance brokerage that is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an experienced Senior Commercial Account Handler. This is a key role within the business, providing technical expertise, client support, and broking capability across a broad range of commercial risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Support & Account Handling
- Provide day-to-day administrative and technical support to Account Executives
- Act as a primary contact for client queries, MTAs, additional cover quotations, and policy documentation
- Manage general client enquiries efficiently and accurately
- Attend insurer and client meetings where required
- Handle client cases directly where appropriate
- Conduct marketing exercises and negotiate terms with insurers
- Secure renewals and new business quotations
- Maintain strong market awareness and insurer relationships
- Stay up to date with market conditions, products, and developments
- Handle a wide range of commercial risks including Property, Liability, Marine, Engineering, Cyber, Motor Fleet and Financial Lines
- Act as a referral point for technical queries, placement strategy, and marketing advice
- Participate in Acturis User Group meetings
- Check, issue, and dispatch proposals, policy documents, and endorsements
- Complete all administration in line with company procedures
- Maintain accurate client records on internal systems
- Ensure all advice is compliant and tailored to client needs
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge across core commercial insurance classes
- Experience handling risks from SME through to large corporate clients
- Confident broking and negotiation skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Extensive Acturis knowledge, ideally at Super User level
- Experience working with third-party premium finance providers
